You wouldn`t normally think of taking an electric bike on a joyride up the steep, winding road to Nandi Hills outside Bengaluru. That`s understandable, given our perception of electric bikes as low-power utility vehicles, whose function is to reduce fuel costs and pollution in cities. But Narayan Subramaniam had other ideas. He founded Ultraviolette in 2016 in Bengaluru with Niraj Rajmohan to make an electric bike that could outshine petrol bikes powered by engines upwards of 150cc.
